A second wash of the same colours but a little darker was applied to create the cloud shapes, leaving the bright dawn light behind the buildings. Unfortunately the scanner has failed to pick out much of this second wash

The first wash was applied to the buildings, red/sienna all over the nearest building, grey on the second. Using these same washes, the shadow areas were darkened.

Next the windows, and door were painted in. Finally the darks under the eaves were strongly applied with Burnt Sienna and Utra marine, missing a regular pattern to create the brick dentile effect See the larger detail inset
